Manchester City Beat Tottenham 1-0

Haaland Scores Opener, Penalty Seals Win

Spurs' Top-Four Hopes Dented

Manchester City moved back to the top of the Premier League table with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Erling Haaland scored the only goal of the game in the 53rd minute, tapping home from close range after Phil Foden's shot had been saved by Hugo Lloris. City then sealed the win in the 82nd minute when Riyad Mahrez converted a penalty after Richarlison had fouled Jack Grealish in the box.

The win moves City two points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table, while Tottenham remain in fifth place, three points behind Manchester United in fourth.

It was a disappointing result for Spurs, who needed a win to keep their top-four hopes alive. They were the better side in the first half, but they failed to take their chances and were punished by City's clinical finishing in the second half.

The defeat leaves Tottenham with a mountain to climb in the race for the top four. They now need to win their remaining three games and hope that Arsenal and Manchester United drop points.
